This week has been careers week and we have been learning about lots of different types of jobs. We have watched a CBeebies programme called Biggleton which shows lots of people living in the town of Biggleton who all have different jobs.
This week we watched two episodes which told us about three professions which are linked to our topic Enchanted Garden- A gardener, a greengrocer and a builder. So, this week we have been gardeners, greengrocers and builders.
Gardener- we went out into the Secret Garden and tidied the leaves, dug some weeds and swept the paths. Next week we are going to plant some bulbs and seeds so we can watch flowers and vegetables grow out there.
Greengrocer- Miss Mordey and Miss Imrie set up a greengrocer shop in the role play area for the children to be greengrocers and customers in the shop. The children have had so much fun selling and buying vegetables.
Builders- Linked to our story Jack and the Beanstalk, we built a hug castle using cardboard. The children helped Miss Imrie and Miss Mordey to plan how to use the materials and to join them together.
We will continue to learn about more careers in the following weeks.
