We were lucky enough to dodge the raindrops to spend a little time outside investigating friction, making predictions about the effect different surfaces have on the movement of a ball as it leaves a ramp.  We had to be really careful to make sure our investigation was 'fair' by keeping all variables the same such as the height of the ramp, the amount of force applied to the object (ball), the size and weight of the ball.  We used our newly acquired measuring skills to measure the distance to ball traveled each time in metres and centimetres.  Everyone was keen to observe and be involved!
